Privacy Policy
🔒 The short version: Linkwarden for Safari does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data. All communication happens directly between your device and your own Linkwarden server.
1. Who we are
"Linkwarden for Safari" is an independent Safari Web Extension for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. It is not affiliated with the official Linkwarden project. This policy describes the data practices of the extension and its accompanying website.
2. Data we do NOT collect
We do not collect any personal information. Specifically:
- We do not track your browsing history or the URLs you save.
- We do not collect your Linkwarden credentials or API token beyond local device storage.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry services.
- We do not serve ads or build advertising profiles.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
- We do not use cookies on this website.
3. Data stored on your device
The extension stores the following information locally on your device only,
using the browser's built-in browser.storage.sync / chrome.storage.sync API:
- Your Linkwarden server URL (e.g.
https://your-server.com) - Your Linkwarden API token
- Optional preferences such as a default collection or default tags
This data never leaves your device except to communicate directly with the Linkwarden server you configured. Apple may sync this data across your own devices via iCloud if you have iCloud Keychain or extension sync enabled — this is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Network requests
The extension makes network requests exclusively to the Linkwarden server URL you provide in the extension settings. These requests are used to:
- Fetch your collection list when you open the save popup.
- Save a bookmark when you submit the form.
No requests are made to any server operated by us. We have no visibility into what is saved or when.
5. This website
This landing page (linkwardenapp.com or equivalent) is a static HTML site
served via a web server. It does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any client-side
analytics scripts. No visitor data is logged beyond what a standard web server may
record in its access logs (IP address, browser user agent, requested URL) for
operational purposes. These logs are not shared and are purged regularly.
6. Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because we collect no data, we do not expect significant changes.
8. Contact
If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please open an issue on the project's GitHub repository or reach out via the contact details listed there.
